On October 14 the salary service MojaPlaća, run by Alma Career Croatia (the company behind MojPosao), published its figures for the third quarter of 2026. The average monthly net pay, including extras, was €1,586: 3.1 percent more than a year earlier, but 4.2 percent below the second quarter. The median, the middle point, was €1,500, so half of employees earn less and half more.
Your sector matters a lot. At the top, IT averages €1,856, energy €1,804, finance and insurance €1,708, and construction and real estate €1,681. At the bottom, auxiliary occupations average €1,124, which is 29 percent below the national figure, and service jobs €1,300, 18 percent below.

Many Nepali workers are in construction, tourism, trade and services, so these lines are the closest comparison for your own job.
Place matters too. The City of Zagreb has the highest average, €1,701, about 7 percent above the national figure. The lowest is Lika-Senj County at €1,221, 23 percent below. Foreign-owned private companies pay €1,676 on average, state-owned firms €1,614 and mostly domestic private firms €1,578.
Read the numbers with care. This is MojaPlaća's own data, not an official statistics release, and it includes extras such as bonuses. It describes all employees, including skilled and long-serving ones, so a new worker will often start below the average. Compare the minimum wage too: it is €1,050 gross in 2026, and the 2027 figure is still to be decided.
What to do: take your latest payslip, find your sector and region in the list above, and see where you stand. If you are far below, ask your employer about extras and overtime, look at your pay line by line, and think about whether a better offer in another city is worth the cost of moving (see our guide on changing employers).
