Sending €500 home: compare the rupees received, not just the fee
Wise and Paysend advertise Croatia–Nepal transfers. A fair comparison needs the same total budget, payment method and payout route; we have no controlled live quote to rank them.

A small transfer fee can look attractive while a weaker exchange rate quietly reduces what reaches home. The useful number is the final rupee amount compared with the total euros leaving your account.
Wise publishes a Croatia-to-Nepal route and describes personal Nepal bank-account payments, with the recipient’s name, bank, branch and account details required. Its Nepal guidance does not support business payments. Paysend advertises bank, supported-card and wallet payouts on this corridor, with the available option depending on the recipient and transaction. [1][2][3]
For a repeatable comparison, set a €500 total debit, a personal Nepal bank-account payout and debit-card funding, then obtain quotes at the same time. Both providers first need to confirm that those methods are available. We have not obtained two controlled quotes on those terms, so there is no evidence-based cheapest-provider ranking here.
A hypothetical example makes the calculation clear: NPR 86,000 received for €500 paid gives an effective rate of 172. NPR 85,500 gives 171. The family receives NPR 500 less in the second example. Those are teaching figures, not current offers.
Before confirming, compare arrival estimates, any additional bank or card charges and whether the price is a first-use promotion. If an identity document comes from another country, Wise may also ask for proof of the right to live in the account country, separately from address evidence. [4]
Save the final quote showing both sides of the transfer. It is a better comparison record than a headline rate alone.
